MOUNT WORCESTER
Mount Worcester is an instrumental cinematic soul band from East Nashville, brought to life by producer Jared Colby. Drawing from their love of classic soul, afrobeat, hip-hop sampling, and soundtrack music, Mount Worcester develop deep grooves that create grand landscapes in the mind and move bodies on the dance floor. With specific influences ranging from David Axelrod and Ikebe Shakedown to Wu-Tang Clan and Adrian Younge, Mount Worcester tells a story without words.
For the live show, Colby has selected the best musicians in Nashville to bring these songs to life - with the band ranging from 4 to sometimes 8 members. This band first gained attention around Nashville in 2019 after having supported The Suffers at the High Watt, released their first single, “Three Streets”, and having played Derek Hoke’s legendary $2 Tuesday to a packed-out 5 Spot crowd. A review from No Country for New Nashville in the summer of 2019 had this to say: “On their just-released debut single, “Three Streets”, Mount Worcester definitely bring the vibes, crafting a lush and timeless groove with more hook and flavor than many other instrumental acts.” They are continuing to draw attention with live shows this year, doing support for GZA (Wu-Tang Clan), and Alanna Royale. Their new single “Contigo” will be digitally released worldwide on 5/13/22, and their debut LP is due to be released in late 2022/early 2023 on Trash Casual out of Brooklyn, NY.
